Enhancements in DSG 3.3.0.0
One of the key takeaways for 3.3.0.0 is the concept of backward compatibility. Previous versions of DSG were compatible only with a subsequent ESA version. Version 3.3.0.0 forms a base that allows future versions of DSG to be compatible with multiple ESA versions. A version of DSG can be compatible with the current and earlier versions of ESA. For this release, DSG is compatible with ESA v10.0.x. Some improvements for DSG 3.3.0.0 are as follows.
Upgrade
Similar to the earlier releases, upgrade to v3.3.0.0 is done through a patch. The v3.3.0.0 patch must be installed on a v3.2.0.0 machine. It is pertinent to note that direct upgrade to v3.3.0.0 is possible only from v3.2.0.0. Other versions of DSG must be upgraded to v3.2.0.0 before proceeding with v3.3.0.0 upgrade. An intermediate 3.2.0.0. hotfix must be installed on v3.2.0.0 before installing the v3.3.0.0 patch. For more information about upgrade, refer here.
Trusted appliances cluster
The creation of Trusted appliances cluster (TAC) in 3.3.0.0 is different from that of previous releases. In releases prior to 3.3.0.0, a cluster was created with ESA and DSG in the same cluster. However, from v3.3.0.0 the process to create a cluster changes. In this version, separate clusters for ESAs and DSGs must be created. For information about TAC, refer to Trusted Appliances Cluster.
GPG agent
In 3.3.0.0., the GPG agent is run as a separate application. A separate service for the GPG agent is added in the UI. The commands to create keys are different from the earlier versions. For more information about GPG agent, refer here.
Install
The steps for installing DSG have been changed starting with v3.3.0.0. To complete the installation of DSG v3.3.0.0, it is important to follow the required steps. For more information about installing DSG, refer here.
