Uninstallation

Steps to uninstall and cleanup Anonymization.

To remove the Anonymization service and all associated Kubernetes and AWS resources:

# Removes all chart resources. PVC data is retained by default.
helm uninstall anonymization -n anonymization

# Wait for workload pods to terminate before destroying infrastructure.
kubectl wait --for=delete pods --all -n anonymization --timeout=10m

# If Karpenter is installed, wait for its NodeClaims to scale down before continuing.
kubectl wait --for=delete nodeclaims --all --timeout=30m

# To also delete the database PVC (irreversible — deletes stored data):
kubectl delete pvc -n anonymization -l app.kubernetes.io/name=anonymization

# AWS — must pass the same required vars used for apply:
tofu destroy \
  -var="cluster_name=<your-cluster-name>" \
  -var="bucket_name=<globally-unique-bucket>" \
  -var="chart_version=2.1.0"
# Removes all chart resources. PVC data is retained by default.
helm uninstall anonymization -n anonymization

# Wait for workload pods to terminate before destroying infrastructure.
kubectl wait --for=delete pods --all -n anonymization --timeout=10m

# If Karpenter is installed, wait for its NodeClaims to scale down before continuing.
kubectl wait --for=delete nodeclaims --all --timeout=30m

# To also delete the database PVC (irreversible — deletes stored data):
kubectl delete pvc -n anonymization -l app.kubernetes.io/name=anonymization

# Azure — must pass the same required vars used for apply:
tofu destroy \
  -var="cluster_name=<cluster>" \
  -var="resource_group_name=<rg>" \
  -var="storage_account_name=<globally-unique-name>" \
  -var="chart_version=2.1.0"

Note: By default, tofu destroy prompts for confirmation before deleting resources. Add -auto-approve to skip the prompt.
