Discover

Discover is Protegrity’s enterprise data intelligence layer. It comprises of two integrated services, Traverse and Classify.

Traverse maintains an updated catalog of an organization’s entire data estate. It continuously scans and indexes datastores, object stores, knowledge graphs, and identity directories (IDP/AD). It in turn maps every data source, schema, principal, and access path across the organization. This service directly supports the Sources views in the front-end of the application.

Classify runs across everything Traverse catalogs and can be used independently in User defined pipelines. It detects and classifies sensitive data, such as, PII, PHI, financial data, credentials, custom types at the field, file, and content level, including unstructured documents and live AI workflow content.

Together, Discover builds and maintains the foundational intelligence that powers the rest of the Protegrity platform.
