Classifications allow a user to define and manage the custom detection logic required by an organization. Any classification created and marked as Active is applied by Discover during scanning, alongside Protegrity-provided classifications. The resulting outputs, both Protegrity-provided and custom, are written directly to the catalog and enrich each discovered entity with protection conditions, data type labels, and compliance framework tags. This enriched metadata drives downstream capabilities such as policy alignment, risk prioritization, reporting, and remediation workflows.
Note: Classifications marked as available are available anytime Classify as a Service is run using the same Classify container service.
