1 - Installing the Application Protector C

Setting up the Application Protector C

The Protegrity Application Protector (AP) C provides APIs that integrate with the customer application to protect, unprotect, and reprotect sensitive data. The AP C can be used with any customer application that is developed using the C programming language.

Prerequisites

For a detailed information on the prerequistes, refer to System Requirements.

Integrating the Application Protector C with PPC

To integrate the Application Protector C with PPC, perform the following steps:

1. Install and set up the PPC using the steps from the Installing PPC documentation.

2. Preparing the environment using the steps mentioned in the section Preparing the Environment.

3. Install the Application Protector C using the steps mentioned in the section Application Protector C Installation.

   Note:

   • Ensure a Workbench user exists to fetch certificates and create policy-related resources.
     For more information, refer to Installing Policy Workbench on PPC in Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
   • During RPA installation, when prompted for a username, enter the Workbench username.
     For more information about username and password, refer to Log in to PPC.
   • When prompted for the ESA IP address, enter the PPC FQDN as configured in Automated script-based installation or Manual component-based installation. Ensure the FQDN does not exceed 50 characters. For the ESA listening port, enter 25400. These specific values are required to integrate the protector with the PPC.
